Welcome to the Website of the Central Otago Flying Club (COFC). We are a small Flying and Gliding club situated in Alexandra, in the South Island of New Zealand (just below and right of Australia..!)
This site serves a couple of uses, firstly I hope you find it interesting (and it makes you want to join), and secondly it is the site for our club members...a sort of newsletter replacement.
Our club owns three aircraft: a newly refurbished Cessna 172, 2-seater Twin Astir glider, and a single seat PW5 glider. We own a large hanger at the local airport and have comfortable clubrooms right by the taxiway. We welcome new pilots for flight training. We have one power and 3 gliding instructors, all of them volunteers.
Glider launching is by aerotow or winch.
